Katrina Kaif is one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood and is sought after by many producers and film makers in the industry. Nobody thought that this half British, half Indian girl would make it so big!
Today, Katrina Kaif has some of the best projects lined up with leading actors, including Ek Tha Tiger with ex boyfriend Salman Khan and Yash Raj Films Dhoom 3 in which is paired opposite Aamir Khan. However, Katrina’s ride to fame and riches has not been easy.
Speaking to the Times of India in an interview, Katrina Kaif gets nostalgic and reveals about her sudden decision to come to India in search of a career in modelling and the glamour industry. Katrina was just 17 when she gave up her studies in engineering back in London and decided to make Mumbai her home. The actress first arrived in Mumbai with her eldest sister Christine and immediately felt a ‘connection’ with the city.
Katrina Kaif rented a small apartment in Bandra and met photographer Farrokh Chothia. There was a time when Kat would audition along with 50 other models. Remembering her past days, Katrina Kaif said, “I used to eat a lot then. I wasn't fat, but definitely heavier than I am now. I remember eating homemade chicken curry, especially dal-rice, as it was tasty and inexpensive. It was an exciting phase for me.”
